Summary / Synopsis
"The billionaire CEO never planned to marry - until the threat of blackmail forces him into an engagement with a woman he barely knows: Vivian Lau, jewelry heiress and daughter of his newest enemy. It doesn't matter how beautiful or charming she is. He'll do everything in his power to destroy the evidence and their betrothal. There's only one problem: now that he has her... he can't bring himself to let her go. Elegant. Ambitious. Well-mannered. Vivian Lau is the perfect daughter and her family's ticket into the highest echelons of high society. Marrying a blue-blooded Russo means opening doors that would otherwise remain closed to her new-money family. While the rude, elusive Dante isn't her idea of a dream partner, she agrees to their arranged marriage out of duty. Craving his touch was never part of the plan. Neither was the worst thing she could possibly do: fall in love with her future husband."

My Takes
This is a forced proximity, forced marriage. He does say an amazing line that made it to TikTok. But this kind of book gets to me. You have an adult female whose parents arrange a marriage in this age and we are supposed to pretend that it is normal or legal. With the way feminism is right now I don’t see anyone’s parents getting away with it.
The premise is this girl’s farther has blackmailed this dangerous billionaire into marring her. And they are supposed to be an Asian family. Besides her last name, you would never know it reading this book. This is so striking a case that when they told me several chapters in that she was Asian I had to stop and re-evaluate my picture of the FMC I had in my head.
Don’t get me wrong the writing is good, the plot moves along and I will read more books in the series. Don’t be discouraged. It is a billionaire romance and it’s all about him falling for a girl he swore to hate. But she is a good person. Of course everything is done backwards because when they meet it is the same time she finds out they are engaged. Then the following week they move in together. They don’t even date until after they have kissed a few times.
But the whole reason to read these books is for the antics and to see what will happen next. King of wrath is worth the read.
