This is a true dark romance. There is stalking, brutal abuse and rape. They are all necessary for the story.

This book is not a sweet romance. It is the kind of story that drags you into the chaos, makes you uncomfortable at times, and then somehow has you seeking more. Kade though is a walking red flag. He is Possessive, violent, cruel and emotionally damaged.

This relationship is built on years of pain, betrayal, obsession, and unresolved trauma, and Leigh Rivers does not try to soften any of it. The tension between these two is intense from the very beginning and only gets more unhinged as the story goes on.

Beneath the manipulation, anger, and revenge, there is this desperate need for love and connection that makes the characters feel raw and human, even when they are making terrible decisions.

Some scenes are genuinely hard to read emotionally, but if you love dark romance with obsessive love interests, trauma-filled backstories. That said, definitely check trigger warnings before diving in because this book goes to some very dark places. It is messy, chaotic, and emotionally brutal in the best way for the right reader.

This book will definitely have you asking what the hell you just read.

It is a good story, brutal, but good. This is a cliffhanger so be ready with book 2.
Right as things start to come together and the story takes off you will NEED the next book.
