Summary / Synopsis
THE WEAPON THEY CREATED
WILL BE THEIR DESTRUCTION
The line between sense and madness blurs as Kade seeks revenge on those who destroyed his life. They threatened his family, shattered his sanity, and then they stole his girl. He’ll sacrifice everything to save them all, even if it means war.
Stacey Rhodes has been to hell and back, and now she’s trapped by the monster who stole Kade from her. But Stacey isn’t backing down – she’ll do anything it takes to save Kade, no matter the cost.
Can she free them both from Bernadette’s clutches before war consumes everyone they care about?
As this is a dark romance, the author highly recommends reading the 'content warning' page.

My Takes
Restitution by Leigh Rivers unfortunately ended up being a 2-star read for me. After being invested enough to continue through the trilogy, I really wanted the finale to pull everything together in a satisfying way, but this one just did not fully land for me.
The biggest issue was the pacing. This book felt extremely long, and a lot of it dragged on with repetitive internal monologues, emotional spirals, and scenes that felt like they circled the same points over and over again. By the end, I found myself more ready for the story to be over than emotionally invested in what was happening.
Kade and Stacey still had the same toxic, obsessive dynamic that carried the series, but instead of feeling intense and emotional, a lot of it started to feel exhausting. I kept waiting for bigger emotional payoff moments that never fully hit the way I wanted them to. The ending especially left me unsatisfied. After everything these characters went through, I wanted something stronger, more impactful, or at least more emotionally earned.
That being said, there were still a few moments I enjoyed, and I will absolutely admit I was happy Chris finally got what was coming to him because that felt long overdue. Some of the darker revenge elements were still entertaining, and Leigh Rivers definitely knows how to create messy, damaged characters that keep readers hooked enough to see how it all ends.
Overall, this trilogy had an interesting premise and plenty of chaos, but Restitution just did not stick the landing for me personally. Not terrible, but definitely not a finale I loved.
