Bride by Ali Hazelwood was such a fun surprise for me and easily a 4.5-star read. I went into this expecting a cute paranormal romance, but what I got was vampires, werewolves, political tension, forced proximity, mystery, banter, and one of the sweetest emotionally unavailable wolf men I have read in a while.

Misery was such a refreshing main character. She is sarcastic, awkward, intelligent, and honestly just trying her best while being thrown into an arranged marriage with a terrifyingly hot Alpha werewolf. Her inner dialogue had me laughing constantly, and I loved how relatable she felt even in a world full of vampires and supernatural politics.

And Lowe? Oh, Ali Hazelwood absolutely knew what she was doing with this man. Quiet, protective, loyal, patient, obsessed in the softest way possible. The slow burn between him and Misery was SO good. The tension, the tiny moments, the way he cared for her without making a huge deal about it... I ate it up.

What really surprised me was how well the paranormal world worked. Sometimes paranormal romance can feel overwhelming with lore, but this felt easy to follow while still being interesting. The mystery subplot kept the story moving, and the pack dynamics added so much warmth to the book.

The only reason this was not a full 5 stars for me is because there were a few moments where I wanted just a little more depth emotionally near the end, but overall this book was addictive, swoony, and ridiculously entertaining.
