Summary / Synopsis
One day I’m raiding tombs to buy my freedom from the man who has controlled me for years.
The next, I’m caught and thrown into an Egyptian prison, only to be rescued by a vampire.
Yes, a vampire.
Tobias is as stunning as he is grumpy, and he has a proposition for me. One I can’t turn down because it could spell freedom.
So a few days later, I relocate to New Haven, to Yale, and meet a secret society of magical dark artifact hunters.
They tell me that I have magic too.
But that’s not the craziest thing.
My last job unleashed great evil on the world. Thankfully, the secret society seems happy to help me right my wrongs and discover my power. Maybe even help me to remember my forgotten past too.
Well, most everyone, anyway. Tobias is the notable exception.
Too bad for him, he’s also assigned as my partner. My protector—a designation that he clearly despises.
But when danger comes calling, Tobias and I need to learn to work together and find the object I stole in Egypt because if we don’t, it could very well mean my death.
Seeker of Secrets is an urban fantasy romance. If you like the found family aspect of Vampire Diaries, the slow burn and intense romance of the Fever series, and the action of Supernatural, you’ll love the Coven of Shadows and Secrets Series.
Trigger Warnings
Cliffhanger book, Covers have been redesigned at least 3 times.
My Takes
I got this book thinking it was the cursed series since the audible cover was so close to the Cursed cover. That is my fault. But I decided to give it a go anyways. I got a boxed set books 1-3. I did read every one and my reviews of each are on here but I will save you the time and the hassle.
I don't read book reviews until after I have read the book. I go into most books blind and that is how I like to do it. I don't read trigger warnings and for this book you really don't need them. If you have ever seen or read Discovery of Witches, you can skip this book series.
Our FMC is a tomb raider. Ok, I think cool. Then she imidiatly gets robbed and thrown in jail where our secret society gets her out and leaves her partner behind. She is recued by a Vampire and then they go to Yale (in DOW (DOW Is Discovery of Witches) it is Oxford) The vampire has an english accent (Same as DOW) Where it deviates is that there are not just witches and vampires in this book. There is also shifters. There are also demons (same as DOW) but I don't remember if DOW has angels. I feel like it did but it has been a minute since I read that one. Both books have demons.
Anyways, Her powers have been bound (DOW). They unlock them (DOW) Her parents were killed (DOW) and I could go on and on but I won't.
Like I said I stuck with it and read all of the first 3. Don't do it if you have read DOW because it is the much better book.
Lack luster and 0 Spice.. Might as well be a YA book..
